Windows Vista?

A common factor everyone who works on or uses computers can often agree on is that Windows Vista is one of the most faulty and complicated but beneficial operating systems on computer systems which are being purchased and manufactured today. The problem is with so many people being so used to using operating systems such as Windows XP or Windows 98 and 2000, Vista can be very hard to figure out being the operating system functions on a totally different level. A lot of different functions available on XP are not available on Vista, and vise verse.

When you run into a problem with forgetting Vista password on a user on your computer there are different things you can do and cannot do on Windows Vista.

What is the password function for user accounts?

When a user account is initially created on a computer the person creating the account has an option to also create a password. The password function is available to help people protect their personal software and information from other users on the computer. Although the administrator can override and change passwords and different user accounts on the computer, the administrators information and account cannot be changed without the administrator password.

So how do you reset password Windows Vista?

Remember how Windows XP has a backdoor when on a administrator account which you can change the administrator password even if you do not remember the original password? Well, Vista does not have that function. This meaning that an administrator password cannot be changed without recovering the original password.

If you are trying to recover a normal user account password which is not associated with the administrator account you can in fact recover that password as long as you have your administrator password.

The only way to recover your Vista administrator password if you cannot remember it on Windows Vista is to either purchase a password recovery software program or re-install vista using your recovery disk.

The problem with the recovery disk option is that since you cannot log into your Vista administrator account you will not be able to preserve any programs, documentation, or files on the account which you may need.

So in comparison to the price of purchasing a recovery disc if you do not have one ( disks cost 100$ and up ) along with the value of all of your data which would be lost by re-installing. The wiser idea would be to invest in a less costly program which will pull up your password for you to get back into your administrator account.

What are other benefits of using a password recovery program to reset Windows Vista password?

When purchasing a password recovery program, you will have the option to recover your password at anytime in the future when you forget your password.

While if you do not purchase the software and simply re-install Windows Vista, you will have to wipe out all of your data in the future if you happen to forget your password again.
